Cheryl is a world-class interaction designer and storyteller based in the Seattle area. She is currently employed full-time at Microsoft as a Senior Designer and acts as Design Lead for the Azure Portal and Marketplaces. Past employers include Amazon, Griptonite Games, Electronic Arts, and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Her 15 years of industry experience spans a broad range of industries: from video games to server management, from automotive design to the Alexa family of voice-controlled devices. She brings strong leadership skills to the table, with experience leading creative interdisciplinary teams, shipping multiple software products on ambitious schedules, and sharing her skills via workshops and classes to the next generation of designers..

As a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction Institute, Cheryl possesses invaluable training in both design and research that enables her to create and build the next generation of experiences in a way that keeps the customer at the center of their technology universe.

Digital Media Coordinator
Seattle Experimental Theater (June 2011 - Present)

Maintain multiple Facebook pages and a company Web and blog presence. Design and run ad campaigns on a per-production basis.

Ensemble Performer & Instructor
Unexpected Productions (April 2008 - Present)

Perform in weekly improvised theatrical productions, and teach a weekly 100-level improv class to adults.

2015-2016: Solved platform-level design challenges for the Alexa Voice Service team. Contributed to multiple unannounced products as well as the Echo and FireTV Alexa implementations.

2014-2015: Joind the fledgling Echo Look team as employee #3. Provided instrumental product design vision, from storyboarding to complete voice designs.
